Need help with Gameboy Advanced Bionicle

My son (7) is extremely frustrated with this game. He tells me that everytime he is in the 2nd tunnel and tries to cross the river (using his launcher and B button) he can't seem to get across. He just falls in the water everytime. I have no idea how this game is played, so I am hoping someone out there knows and can help him. Thanks!

My son had the same problem. It is a frustrating game. As he continues he will come to even more problems that nobody seems to know the answers to.

In order to cross the river he needs to have the launcher. I am assuming he already has obtained the launcher. In the inventory, assign the launcher a button command. Then aim for the wall across the river. Get as close to the edge of the wall as possible. Once the launcher is attached to the edge of the wall, push the direction arrow down hit the designated button simultaneously. This will sling you in a circular fashion, instead of forcing you directly into the wall.

I hope this has been helpful. My question is, "How do you beat the giant scorpian?" It does not respond to anything I have in my inventory. I am also looking for a guide to this game so I don't have to wait on a reply forever.
